Amerind Foundation Museum Fulton-Hayden Memorial Art Gallery now presents the new "And Ten, There Were

 Horses!" exhibit of Native American paintings influenced by the "Studio Style" of art taught by Dorothy Dunn at

 the Sante Fe Indian School during the years 1932-1937.

   Impressive works by Navajo and Apache artists depict the important role horses play in the lives, culture and

 imaginations of Native American tribes. Allan Houser (Hauzous), Harrison Begay, and Quincy Tahoma together

 with other well known artists are displayed.

Current Southwest Archaeology

 February 27, 2010 2:00p.m.

The Amerind Foundation Museum will hold an opening of "Current Southwest Archaeology" a traveling exhibit on

 February 27, at 2:00 p.m. Presentation by four researchers which include Health of 3,000 years ago, Ancient

 Footrace Tracks in Central Arizona, Ancient Towers, and Tucson Family Life in 1900. Standard Museum

 admission costs apply.

Benson’s Fifth Annual “Bluegrass in the Park” will be April 23, 24 & 25 2010. This event keeps

getting better each year. With Sandoval Productions putting together the line-up, the bands

             July 4th Celebrationn

          Saturday, July 03, 2010 at 9:00 AM

           Benson will celebrate 4th of July starting with our parade at 9:00am. the

           festivities will move to Lions Park at 10:30 for our yearly "Water Fight". After

           the Water Fight, there will be entertainment all day long. The Fireworks show

           will start at about 8:30pm. Come join us for this day of family fun! For a

October 9 & 10 2010                                  _  Butterfield Overland Stage Days

This year the Benson Chamber of Commerce will be putting on a special Butterfield Overland Stage Days. Although it only ran for 2 years in 1858 and 1859, it was one of the turning points in American history.  October of 2010 will mark 152 years since John Butterfield’s dream for an overland mail and passenger service connecting the East with the West. There will be vendors and entertainment in Lions Park.  There will also be an official U.S. Post Office Pony Express mail run from Benson to Dragoon on horseback taking letters with a special cancellation just for this event. October 9, 2010                                                                                  Butterfield Rodeo

The Benson Rodeo Committee will be having their one-day Butterfield Rodeo on October 9th will all the profits going to charity. It will be held at the Arena Bar on Prickly Pear Ave. (across from WAL MART) The rodeo has been one of the more popular rodeos in the area.            Every year the third weekend in October, the Southern Arizona Harley Riders put on their Biker

              December 11, 2010                                                               Christmas on Main Street

             The Benson Chamber of Commerce has been putting on Christmas on Main Street for the

              past several years. It has been a favorite of the community since it started in 2004.

             There will once again be street vendors as well as local entertainment such as the Saint

             David High School Choir. There will also be a visit from Santa Clause. It will be a day of
